Nikka Whisky Taketsuru Pure Malt is a premium Japanese blended malt whisky that is named after the founder of Nikka Whisky, Masataka Taketsuru. This whisky is made by blending together malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, both of which are owned by Nikka Whisky. On the nose, the Nikka Whisky Taketsuru Pure Malt has a complex aroma of dried fruits, spices, and a hint of smoke. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with flavors of caramel, honey, and vanilla, followed by a long and smooth finish with a gentle smokiness. It has won numerous awards, including the Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2012 and the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2014
